Classes to help students with test preparation for the ACT will be available at Urbandale High School through the Parks and Recreation department. Freshmen are participating in a career unit this month. This week and next week, freshmen teachers are taking students on a college trip, visiting Iowa State, Drake University, DMACC and Grandview College. This Friday, community members will be coming to the school to speak about their careers.

Authorities believe the man arrested in the death of his 21-year-old girlfriend cooked parts of her body and may have tried to eat them _ actions they said he described to them in the emergency call that led them to the grisly discovery. Christopher Lee McCuin, 25, was scheduled to be arraigned Monday on a capital murder charge in the death of Jana Shearer. He was in solitary confinement at a jail on a US$2 million bond Sunday night and did not have an attorney, officials said. .
